Oscar Perez has served as the CFO of U.S. operations at Snøhetta since 2012, bringing with him a deep well of financial expertise built across a range of leadership roles. Prior to joining Snøhetta, he worked as Controller at Weidlinger Associates, Inc., where he also held the position of Financial Analysis & Reporting Manager. His background includes consulting for OPerez Consulting as a Financial System Consultant, as well as serving as Controller at Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn Architects and Project Control Supervisor at Hazen and Sawyer. He began his career in finance as a Staff Accountant at Thornton Tomasetti, gaining foundational experience that shaped his professional trajectory.
Oscar’s educational path reflects his commitment to the field, earning a BA in Economics and Finance from The City College of New York. With more than two decades of experience across financial management, reporting, and analysis in both consulting and architectural environments, he brings a seasoned, strategic perspective to his role at Snøhetta and continues to play a central part in the firm’s U.S. operations.

I’ll be your host today. I’m very pleased to have here with me Oscar Perez, CFO at Snohetta. Welcome to the podcast, Oscar.
Oscar Perez: Thank you. Thank you for having me. I’m excited for our conversation.
Alka Bahal: Me too. So let’s start off with you telling us a little bit about Snohetta. What do you do? Where are you? Who do you serve? Sure.
Oscar Perez: Well, Snohetta, we are an international interdisciplinary design firm. We provide services within architecture, landscape architecture, interior architecture, graphic design, and product design. We really take pride in working in projects of all scales, really, with a central focus on the end user, really creating spaces for people.
We have offices around the world. I am located in New York. I’m the CFO specifically for the Americas region.
But the office of Snohetta, we really started in Norway about 25 plus years ago. And some notable projects that I wanted to talk a little bit about kind of give you the scale of the work that we’re doing. One is Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library that’s currently under construction.
Really interesting project. The first presidential library for presidents of that era, really. And it’s located in North Dakota, in the badlands of North Dakota with some beautiful landscapes.
