Susan: This is Susan Nofi at the Think Factory. I’m here today with Thom Cummings, who’s Regional Manager for Heidelberg, USA. Thom and I are good buddies, worked together for many years, and Thom has a great knowledge of the print industry and the customers, particularly in the east section of the United States. And Thom, how’s Heidelberg doing these days?
Thom: Good morning, Susan. Thanks for having me. Heidelberg is doing fantastic. Life is good. We’ve got, we’re here at the show this morning. We’re in Atlanta and Printing United ’23, opened yesterday, today’s Thursday morning. We had a great showing yesterday. We’re anticipating an even bigger showing today on Thursday. And things have been great.
Susan: Wonderful. You have equipment on the show floor?
Thom: We do. We have a Gallus One, which is something that just recently we began showing it. We installed it up in Kennesaw in a demo facility that you know very well. And we installed that a few months back. We brought that machine down here. It’s a digital label machine. So Gallus One is a company that we’ve owned now for ten years and is a very, very strong company in the label business. And then this digital label machine—we’re anticipating it to really take off.
Susan: Very good. Very, very good. That’s exciting. It’s interesting not to have an offset machine, a printing machine, or a label machine.
Thom: So it’s this is a digital show for us, really. We have diversified here as well. And it’s a new version of the first part of the LP version of our touch collection model, manufactured by Ricoh. We work with them. And we use our front end, the digital front end from Heidelberg, to run that machine. And that has also been very strong for us.
