Laura Siclari: Welcome to the Women’s Roundtable podcast, powered by the Think Factory, where we learn how women think big and grow their businesses. My name is Laura Siclari, a partner with Outside General Counsel Solutions, and I am the host of today’s episode. I have with me today Cheyenne Hayes, who is Vice President of account management with Myriad Global, which is a powerhouse and award winning digital communications and media agency, which happens to specialize in the energy sector, particularly the oil and gas community. Cheyenne, welcome to the Women’s Roundtable podcast. I’m absolutely thrilled to be talking to you today about such a unique niche in the energy sector.
Cheyenne Hayes: Hi, Laura, thank you so much for having me and excited as well. Great.
Laura Siclari: All right. So Cheyenne, tell me a little bit about Myriad Global and the types of energy sector projects that you work on.
Cheyenne Hayes: Sure. So Myriad Global. We specialize in communications and we partner with companies in the energy industry. And specifically, I like to work in projects, but other than projects, we also are able to help in the communication marketing space, whether that be internal communications, external and then into their marketing. And then we also have a little separate side where we specialize in health and safety.
Laura Siclari: That’s great. Okay. So we can talk more about that. So as an environmental attorney who works with outside counsel, working as outside counsel to various energy companies, particularly oil and gas I was excited to be talking to you in particular because we both share one of the same clients, which is one of the world’s largest publicly traded international oil and gas companies. The interesting thing being that I service them on the remediation side and Myriad Global help support their innovative projects on the digital communication side. I love the fact that Myriad Global has an in-house production team to create visuals, and I know from us talking they can do anything from videos in concept animations to 3D models, safety presentations. And it’s one of those areas I think is critically important to support a big energy product project. But often no one really knows who’s the one creating all those visuals behind the scenes. So I love talking about this. So without naming any particular clients or projects, if you don’t want to, tell me about one or more of the most interesting or involved projects you’ve worked on while at Marriott Global?
Cheyenne Hayes: Sure. So one of my clients that I spent a lot of time with, I’m actually contracted by them. So I go onto I go into their office. I sit with the different projects that I am a part of, and we advise and strategize on the best ways to present effective communication to whichever audience they’re targeting. So from from an internal communication standpoint, we think and advise on what the best approaches would be, how we can engage those audiences and what those materials would look like. So that could be an onsite video. So someone’s coming on site. We, we go ahead and create that entire video. We go out and we capture footage of the site, we capture interviews and we set a little video for them. And we also do a lot of, like I said, training and health and safety. So our health and safety and our training has actually become such a large relief that we have turned into a sister company called Shift with the biggest thing in mind is is effective training. So whether that be for employees coming on to site offshore or on site on on land, health, health and safety is very different for those different environments. So we actually dabbled into immersive learning and digital twins. So we’re able to take 3D and turn it into a fully virtual reality for them to walk around. So now we can conduct training and, you know, lead them through the correct PPE and the correct protocols and the correct processes to really create a foolproof plan for a no hurts training strategy. And so that’s really useful in that in that in that audience. And then also for external audiences, we do a lot of project updates or project kickoff films at the beginning. We do a lot of community engagement films. So whether that be what the project is doing for the community or what the projects in a different country will bring to that community.
