Cassandra Gluyas is the Chief Executive Officer and second-generation operator of Thomas Instrumentation Inc., a prestigious family-run electronics design and manufacturing company in New Jersey with a legacy spanning over 50 years. Cassandra’s deep-rooted connection to the business began in her childhood, where she was immersed in the world of electronics through tasks such as counting parts and soldering small projects.
An accomplished electrical engineer, Cassandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a second major in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech, where she proudly identifies as a Hokie. She began her professional journey at Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, contributing to several high-profile projects by developing software solutions. The invaluable experiences and insights gained during her tenure at Lockheed Martin equipped her with a wealth of knowledge, which she later brought back to Thomas Instrumentation, enhancing the company’s innovative capabilities.
For the past decade, Cassandra has been at the helm of Thomas Instrumentation Inc., seamlessly blending modern engineering practices with the foundational values established by her predecessors. Her lifelong immersion in the industry provides her with a unique perspective that guides the company’s strategic direction. Cassandra: Hey, Chris, thanks for having me.
So, Thomas Instrumentation, we’re your one stop electronics partner, and we’ve got over 50 years of experience in printed circuit board design and layout, embedded software development, prototyping, and electronics manufacturing services. And we’re all here, right here in New Jersey. So, it’s 100% U.S. made. And what that means for people that don’t know anything about printed circuit boards or electronics, basically all those little green computer boards that are inside your devices and, you know, it’s everywhere now. It’s your phones, it’s your cameras, it’s your refrigerator, it’s, you know, your dishwasher. All of that takes some kind of electronic controller to turn motors on, turn heaters, look at sensors, all of that. So that’s something my family has been doing since 1971, is designing those boards and manufacturing them and making them work. So, you know, we’re we’re pretty much everywhere these days.
