Brian, thank you for joining us today.
Brian Brandtmiller: Thank you, Marco. Thank you for having me. It’s a pleasure to be here.
Marco Gonzales: Cool. Cool. Brian, look, let’s start off with you telling us a little bit about yourself and the company.
Brian Brandtmiller: Yes. So I’ve experienced in project management, I have a history in machining in the in the machining industry. I’ve been a C and C machinist, process engineer sales and a general engineer. I’ve not seen a tool for 35 years. I started off in a grinding machine on second shift, worked my way up to be the supervisor in the department, then worked myself into a project manager until I got to my present position as the industrial sales manager. K Tool is located in Northeast Indiana. It has two facilities in Churubusco and one in Albany, Indiana. We are experienced and we have experienced engineers. We are advanced equipment to meet whatever your tolerance needs would be. We have direct laser sintering machine equipment. We have grinding, turning, milling and electrical discharge. We also have a large equipment section which goes up to 72 inches. We also have the largest group of contract manufacturing equipment in the hemisphere. We have set we 750,000 square feet, 600 plus of the most skilled employees you’ll find.
Marco Gonzales: Wow, that’s pretty impressive. Brian. Our listeners may know they’ve heard of 3D printing, additive printing, and that has gained in popularity and use in the last decade or two. But additive printing with metals is still not widely known or understood. So why don’t you explain exactly what is additive printing with metal and how that technology works?
Brian Brandtmiller: Okay, be happy to additive manufacturing otherwise or otherwise known as direct laser centering or 3D printing with metal. It is basically where you take powdered metal. A laser goes across reading a model and burns in place powdered metal and it works layer by layer and grows it up until you have the entire the entire object grown.
Marco Gonzales: Wow. That’s pretty interesting. You know, you gave us a video of how that process is. So we’re going to play that. And afterwards, why don’t you explain what’s going on in that video?
