I have with me Susan Masciarelli, who is the CEO and owner of Web-Cote Industries in New Jersey. Web-Cote makes hot melt adhesive coders specializing in OEM and private label glue trapping products for the pest control industry. Welcome Susan. I am very glad to have you on the show today.
Susan Masciarelli: Thank you for having me.
Laura Siclari: Well, first tell me about Web-Cote Industries, how it began.
Susan Masciarelli: It’s really a very interesting product, a product that my mother swears by. I don’t think I told you that the last time we met. So I’m, I’m really curious how Web-Cote Industries, you know, became, well, we, we’ve had a interesting progression from from where it began to where it is now back in 1986. The original owner of the company was coming from an adhesive background and he was looking to manufacture things that weren’t easily found in the marketplace. So they kind of found a specialty niche doing adhesive coated products. They were making things like gaskets for oil filters. I believe they were different things to to help stick like stuff on RV’s. That was before my time and then they had started doing a little bit of pest control stuff. Then in 2006, the company was sold and the owner at that time was coming from a background in pest control product distribution. So he actually had purchased the company because they were a supplier of his and he wanted to secure his his current business by not letting this company go out of business. So because he was deep into pest control, slowly over time we started morphing into exclusively pest control Blues because once the original owner retired, we didn’t have the wide breadth of knowledge of adhesive. So we were, we knew the the pest control stuff.
