Alka Bahal: Welcome to The Think Factory’s Workplace Podcast, powered by OGC Solutions, the podcast where we explore the ever-evolving landscape of workplace dynamics. My name is Alka Bahal. I’m a partner with OGC Solutions and the Chair of our Corporate Immigration Services Group. I’ll be your host today. I’m very pleased to have with me here, Matt Kulp, Executive Vice President and Managing Partner of St. Onge.
Welcome to the podcast, Matt!
Matt Kulp: Thank you, glad to be here!
Alka Bahal: It’s our pleasure. Why don’t we start off by having you tell our listeners a little bit about St. Onge and what you do there?
Matt Kulp: Sure. Well, St. Onge Company is a professional services firm and we provide engineering and consulting services within supply chain to our clients. And my role is, as the EVP, is I oversee the practice that does facility design and operations planning on what we say inside the four walls of distribution centers and manufacturing plants. And the managing partner has responsibilities for things like recruiting, hiring, retention, things of that nature.
Alka Bahal: Wonderful. Now, St. Onge is often recognized as a premier supply chain consulting firm. What do you believe sets your team apart in this competitive field?
Matt Kulp: Sure.
And recognizing what we do, there’s a number of very good competitors do the same thing. And a lot of people like us would say that they put their clients first, their people first, hard work. A lot of the same values that we have and many professional service firms have.
So that’s kind of what you need to enter the market. And we do have those values and clients and people sit at the top of those along with creativity and the hard work and doing the right thing when nobody’s watching. But I think what might make us different is that there’s proof of our actions following our words.
What we’re very proud of the fact that we for almost 19 years in a row were named by Supply Chain Brain as one of the top supply chain partners in the industry. And also for now the second year in a row, our employees have recognized us and help us get recognized as one of Inc’s greatest places to work. So, those two third party awards kind of show, we’re very proud that they show our actions, follow our words, and maybe that sets us apart from many of the others.
Alka Bahal: Yeah, two very impressive recognitions. I like that. What is the St. Onge footprint and how has that evolved post COVID?
Matt Kulp: Yeah, certainly the whole world has changed since COVID as you know.
