In her role, Katelin collaborates with both new and existing clients to identify how Racami’s software and professional services can address their business challenges—enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and unlocking new revenue opportunities.
Her position is dynamic and solution-focused, involving close partnerships with clients and industry collaborators to help Print Service Providers and In-Plants transition into the next era of automation and process optimization. Katelin is known for her hands-on approach, frequently engaging in collaborative sessions using digital whiteboards to map out IT environments and workflow processes. Through these interactions, she helps organizations discover innovative ways to add value and drive transformation.

Chris Santomassimo: So welcome back to The Think Factory podcast and the Printfluencers podcast. This is the first time that the two podcasts have had their worlds collide and create a joint episode. So welcome Katelin Shanks, and thanks for bringing the Printfluencers podcast to the forefront and doing a joint session with The Think Factory.
Katelin Shanks: I know we’re making history today!
Chris Santomassimo: Combining the two podcasts and seeing if we can make a little magic here today.
Katelin Shanks: I’m very excited. Thanks for having me.
Chris Santomassimo: Oh, and thank you for having me on the Printfluencers podcast. Hopefully it’s a slow news day so we can actually make some news from this! So before we get started, Katelin, I would love for you to introduce yourself and maybe I’ll do the same when you’re done.
Katelin Shanks: Yeah, so I am, aside from being the Printfluencers host, my day job is working with a company called Racami we’re a software company. And specifically I am their manager of sales and marketing. And as you said, the host of the Printfluencers podcast.
Chris Santomassimo: And I’m Chris Santomassimo. I’m actually a lawyer and a partner at OGC Solutions. And we specialize in being the outside general counsel for printing and packaging companies. And Katelin and I spent a lot of time at the same kinds of events, talking to industry leaders.
On the side, I’m one of the hosts of The Think Factory podcast, hopefully sharing some interesting thought leadership around issues that are interesting to lots of industries but certainly in packaging and printing.
Katelin Shanks: Definitely. And we’re combining two departments that typically don’t get along too well. On sales, we’re selling things, we’re making contracts, we’re adding in loopholes every which way. And you’re coming behind us trying to close those loopholes and swat us on the back of the hand when we oversell things. [laughter]
Chris Santomassimo: Well, the good news about Racami is that you’ve got a great reputation for performance and satisfying your customers’ needs, your clients’ needs. Our job really is not to slow people down and slap them on the hands but really just rightsize a relationship, make sure the documents all match what everybody expects. And then the marriage that you create when you start providing the software, it’s gonna be a smoother ride because everybody knows what they’re getting into and they know what’s gonna happen if it doesn’t work for some rare reason.
Katelin Shanks: And what I think you guys do is just so interesting because you’re not just the counsel, the internal counsel for a specific company, you work with so many others. And like I was joking about while we were prepping for this, you’re the last, the legal, sort of legal as a service.
So what does that entail? How did you even realize there was a niche for this in the market?
