Chris Santomassimo: I’m your host today, Chris Santomassimo, and really excited to introduce a new face to the podcast, or actually for people that listen, a new voice, I suppose. This is Derek Volk. He’s the CEO of Volk Packaging Corporation, and he’s coming to us from Biddeford, Maine. Welcome to the podcast.
Derek Volk: Thanks a lot. I appreciate you having me on the show.
Chris Santomassimo: You’ll be excited to know you’re the first guest on the podcast that’s coming in from Maine.
Derek Volk: Wow. Hey, there you go. I can put that on my resume.
Chris Santomassimo: You should put it out on LinkedIn immediately, actually.
Derek Volk: I may do that. Yeah.
Chris Santomassimo: We’ve gotten to know each other a little bit over the last couple of times we spoke, but I was really impressed by what you’re doing at the company and the long, rich history of the company as well. Take a couple of minutes and just introduce folks that may not have heard of Volk Packaging to what you do and some of the nice things you’re doing for customers.
Derek Volk: We are a third-generation family-owned and operated corrugated sheet plant located, as you said, in Biddeford, Maine. We were started in 1967 by my father and my grandfather together. My grandfather had been in the paper industry since the 30s, and my father joined him in the 60s. They were in Massachusetts.
